The Stone House, 1862 and 1998.
It was the center of fighting in
both Manassas battles. In both cases, it was used as a hospital. Unknown are the
agonies that were endured inside its stone walls.

On August 27, 1862, after destroying the Union Army of Virginia's supply depot at
Manassas Junction, Major General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson moved his Corps
into the woods behind Groveton near Brawner Farm.
